As we all know that yesterday the original KickassTorrents website went down just after the U.S. officials arrested the owner of the site Artem Vaulin, as well as also seized its all domains. As he is accused of various crimes, such as copyright infringement and money laundering, in addition to aggravating of conspiracy to commit both crimes.

In less than 24 hours, a good portion of KAT has made its way back online, this time as a simple mirror of the original complete with identical design and a similar domain.  Unlike when the isoHunt team resurrected The Pirate Bay, this KAT mirror isn’t very robust. While the site is certainly functional, we’re not expecting new content, since it was created by only 1 person.

Besides putting the KAT mirror up, IsoHunt has called the arrest of Vaulin another attack on freedom and rights of the internet users all across the world. Therefore, IsoHunt’s team has created two petitions, with Change.org and the White House, with the hope of raising enough signatures to get Vaulin out of jail.

It’s highly unlikely the petitions will be able to achieve anything, but the U.S. government does have a rule that states petitions with over 100,000 signatures in 30 days must receive an official response.

The site is to large to just be shutdown, it's just like when the pirate bay went offline. There was a lot of mirrors in no time.
