I'm in favor of legalizing it, because it would benefit the users who wouldn't have to be paranoid all the time (legally use it for medicine too, not just for fun) and the country itself would also benefit from it by collecting the taxes. The only ones that wouldn't benefit from it would be the sellers that sell weed right now and are making a big fortune out of it. They couldn't sell the weed for the same price or even not sell it at all and that could ruin them. That is the real war against drugs if you ask me and not the current way the countries are fighting them.Â
Big Pharm companies would also loss money, as people can grow their own medicine. Good for the people.
And the prisons would loss money, however most off their drug war money goes against weed so that'd make up for it.
I'm all for legalizing it. I used to smoke weed and quit for personal reasons, but it never made me lazy or stupid like so many claim it to do. I think legalizing it would have many benefits (medicinal, could produce hemp paper, fabrics, oils, etc). It's not as bad as many people think IMO.
I don't see anything wrong with weed at all. I think more people in America would be happier if they smoke it.
I am all for legalization.
It has countless medical benefits for a wide array of different diseases.
I've smoked weed a couple times over the course of 2 years.
And I was still able to function normally.
It's a well known fact that weed is better for you then alcohol.

Yea it's kinda sad that it's okay to go to the bar and grab a drink, but don't let me get caught smoking a blunt in my own home.

I'm from the Netherlands so things aren't that bad over here.
But it is indeed sad that something as harmless as weed is illegal, and the reason why it's illegal is even worse.
I do it some of the time when out with a few buddy's of mine. I for one truly do appreciate it. It simply cools me off rationally and makes thing about things I would have never considered.
Personally, I don't use it. I have never used it. However, I know people who have. Some of my best co-workers were unabashed tokers. I don't really care. I do think that we shouldn't ignore its medical uses. After all, if it's legal to pump a cancer patient full of poison and radiation to kill something, why not study the effects of something else. Most of the time, the "approved" treatment kills the patient instead of the actually illness. If I come into a lot of money, I won't be like those celebrities who give to a cause to look important. I want to fund real cancer research, including marijuana.
Weed should be 100% legal.
