I think every few games they take a bit of a step backward in terms of innovation and ultimately it seems like they're going downhill. The beauty of CoD is that they'll inevitably turn it around with the next game and just suck us right back in. The original Modern Warfare was such a leap after so long in the past, I hope they can come up with something innovative like that again.
I feel like it definitely did with Ghosts but there's no way to predict until the next game comes out.
I think the series went downhill after Call of Duty: World at War.
Now it's all uninspired.
I agree with Trust. World at War was the last fantastic CoD game, but I will say that the original Modern Warfare is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Instead of going downhill I think they're just going on a a flat hill to be honest ._. They're not making bad games, just boring ones and extremely repetitive. No CoD has ever hooked me in after CoD 4.
They are doing the same thing as EA is with the Madden franchise. They make the same game every year, with slightly better graphics. When one person buys it, all of his/her friends have to buy it to play with him/her. The cycle then continues.

Yea, to be honest I haven't been able to get a decent group of friends on a game since Mw3
The yearly release of a game within a franchise or series, in my opinion, is more than bound to end up boring the consumer base after a few years (sports games can get away with it best, but some loyal fans still skip a year or two now and again), and I believe Call of Duty is reaching that point, especially by dividing the fanbase with certain concepts.
I, for one, am not thrilled with the futuristic settings in the last few releases. That said, I believe Black Ops 2 held up well enough (and had amazing Zombies DLC) and actually am of the opinion that Advanced Warfare has been one of the greatest titles in the series (although I loathed the fact they didn't include even a single zombies map with the core game), but definitely saw Ghosts as the worst release in the series so far... by far. And frankly, it seems to me Black Ops 3 might give Ghosts a run for its money. I hope I'll be shut up in a month's time, but I can't say I'm looking forward to it at all.
I think other games will step up and take over the FPS category and COD will die down.
I'm very impressed with how black ops 3 turned out!
Not the best from them, but defiantly a game that's worth getting. The online is pretty nice while dealing with some much needed updating. The zombies are great and I've been playing them for hours like the old days.
Overall I'm glad I ended up buying this game.
