I recently started watching this anime, after it was recommended to me by a member of my forums, and - although I have never really been into anime so far - I think that this is a pretty amazing show. The action is really fast-paced and the plot seems to be original and exciting.
Does anyone else watch Attack on Titan? What do you think about it?
I watched Attack on Titan a while back and I feel the same way about it as you do. I think that the story is exciting, because of the fast-paced action. You also cannot predict what will happen next and that makes this anime even more exciting. Most of all characters I like Eren, the main character, because he has superpowers (changing into a titan) which is great. I've never watched any anime like this and I don't see any big cons that would tell you not to watch this anime.
In my opinion it's the anime with the greatest potential.
I like calling it the Game of Thrones of animes. It's so unpredictable and there are so many deaths that you can't even remember most people's names before they die.
I can't wait for season 2 to come out and so are hundreds of thousands of other people. The thing is that it is so well-made that it takes a lot of time to produce new episodes, but I think it's worth the wait.
Brilliant anime. Definitely on the top of many people's rankings, mine included.
I like what I've seen so far of it (I'm waiting for more English dubs). It's a cool concept and the animation is brilliant, but I'm not really a fan of most of the main characters.
I couldn't watch it after the second episode. I just couldn't stand seeing people getting eaten. The story is a good one about how to survive the eating machine that invades the town. The monsters are so grotesque looking. Sorry I just don't like cannibalism.
It's one of the greatest anime of the decade to be honest. The story, while sometimes predictable thanks to foreshadowing, is very intriguing and it keeps you wanting to know more and more about these mysterious creatures and where they come from and what their purpose is, if there's any. But that's not where this show shines. It's the production as a whole that makes this a masterpiece. The direction and animation along with the soundtracks is just one great big ball of awesome. I keep rewatching certain scenes just to relive the thrill one more time. You almost never get bored of them.
I... didn't like it. I loved the first two episodes, but after that I found the plot slowed down substantially. Only got to episode seven before I stopped. My primary problem was the main dude... he's just so whiney... none of the other characters really struck a chord, either, so I gave up. Might give the manga a go and see if the pacing is more to my taste.
I like the concept quite a bit, and the art is fantastic. The titans are truly creepy. The overall execution, though... ehhhhh.

I somewhat agree, it did slow down very notably, and I'm not too fond of the main character either.
But I actually loved it, I had stopped watching anime for a few years and I found Attack On Titan exciting enough that I've been watching anime again since then.
I just really, truly hate it when they take several years for the next season... Black Lagoon was my favorite anime by far, but season 3 took like 6 years to be released. I stopped caring around year 4, and haven't watched it since...
If the next Attack On Titan season came out tomorrow, I'd have no idea what I'm watching, 'cause too much time has happened.
Slowed down? I thought the last 5-6 episodes were the most intense episodes of any show I've ever watched, maybe behind game of thrones. Like stated previously, it has excellent potential. I think everyone connects with at least one character in the show. They did an amazing job with character development.
I've tried reading the manga, cause I was really interested in Mikasa... The first volume was so boring to me!
Plus the art is really bad in the beginning. I wish I enjoyed the title more, cause my friend is really into it.
Does the manga pick up eventually, or should I be obsessed over it since reading the first page?
