My betting background:
My betting background is fairly new, but yet is highly effective. I'm a rookie when it comes to betting but yet I can still make profit. Here is some proof of my past winnings while betting on a sport of my expertise.

When I first started betting, I had $10 BTC, as time went by, I stopped when I made over $200 in BTC. Just remember that you should never get greedy when betting, and remember only bet on sports that you know of or have prior research of. Since I don't have plenty knowledge about betting, I will only offer my advice that I currently know in order to help you when you start to bet. It may look like I don't know a lot from what I said, but I believe it's plenty enough for you guys to learn something new (hopefully).
Tips on gaining profit
When betting, there are many ways of gaining profit ranging from small/long term profit or high/short term profit. My style of betting is usually high profit while betting on less games, meaning I like to use large intervals of money when betting. There are two types of sports betting you can do straight or parlay.Â
Straight betting: Straight bets are the most commonly bet when it comes to sports wagering. These are also called "sides" or "pick a team" and involve a point spread which means that it pertains to football betting or basketball betting (Baseball/Hockey use money lines.)
The standard straight bet offers bettors the choice of selecting the favorite or the underdog in a game and risking -110 odds. If your not familiar with what that means, it basically can be defined as risking $110 to win $100, or if your a small recreational better it could be risking $11 to win $10. In summary, your risking $11 for every $10 you bet. It doesn't necessarily have to be $110 to win $100 or $11 to win $10. It can be $33 to win $30 etc.
Parlay betting: A parlay, accumulator, or combo bet is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers and is dependent on all of those wagers winning together. The benefit of the parlay is that there are much higher payoffs than placing each individual bet separately since the difficulty of hitting it is much higher. If any of the bets in the parlay lose, the entire parlay loses. If any of the plays in the parlay ties, or "pushes", the parlay reverts to a lower number of teams with the odds reducing accordingly.
**The betting style you decide to choose depends on your currently knowledge of those teams selected. For example, the Golden State Warriors play the Philadelphia 76ers, this is a good opportunity to bet using the straight option because the Golden State Warriors favor Philly based on the current stats. (Golden State is 20-0 this season, it is a good opportunity to bet on them unless it is a contending team that can possibility beat them such as the Toronto Raptors, Cleveland Cavaliers, or OKC) I'd suggest betting on Golden State  using a high interval because of their current performance this season.

Conclusion
There are various ways you can bet yourself, but the best way is to use straight bets in my opinion as it only involves 1 game, but if you believe your knowledge in multiple games can make you profit use parlay.
This guide may not be as in depth as I wanted it to be, so I will update this in the future and add change logs.
