I'd advise you to go out during dusk/dawn or in varied weather conditions, the colours and textures of everything around you really help create a larger depth to a photograph. Also, maybe branch out of your local garden/city and check out cool places (Abandoned buildings/land). Just one morning set your alarm an hour or two earlier and go out for a drive with your camera, I would be happy to critique your work.
