Hunting

Who here goes hunting?

I hunt deer and rabbit for food only I do not do it as a sport. Before I was either using my bow or my rifle. But I have recently bought a shotgun hopefully to use that for now on when hunting.

I've never been hunting before, but do want to try it in the future. I have a friend that does it and he tells me how much fun it is - definitely will have to go sometime.

I've never gone hunting or even had the interest to. I just don't see what's fun about it.

It seems a bit fun, but the other side of things...I'd feel bad for killing something :(

i hunt rabbits with air rifles and shotguns.
i even had a couple ferrets, but i had to give them away. it was pretty cool, because my grandad had lurchers too and we would go hunting back in the day

don't use a shotgun if you want to eat the rabbit. there's too many bullets

I have hunted rabbit and squirrel before with a shotgun, it just was not my shotgun it was a family members.

Also .410 is an excellent gauge to take out squirrel and rabbit. My new shotgun is a 20 gauge.

There is many different shells available ranging from bird shot, buckshot, game loads, rifled slugs, sabot slugs, etc. I only shoot slugs or buckshot.

I also have an air rifle it is a Crosman Phantom 1000x .177 shoots lead at 980fps and alloy at 1170fps I prefer to use that for small game or I use the 22LR but 22LR is still hard to come buy from the shortage.

I don't hunt for fun, but have murdered things for sustenance.
I'm more of a trapper than a hunter when it comes to eating animals in the woods.
It is so much better for long term camping because you can go do whatever else you need to that day and just check the traps later.
Beasts the hell out of wandering through the woods hoping for the beast or sitting in a tree waiting for hours on end.

Never and don't want to. I don't see the fun in it, unless you go in with a knife against a predator, meh whatever.

Hunting with firearms is just unfair also I don't see how it can be fun killing animals when they have no idea what is going on.
