Favorite CS:GO gamemode?
#1
Which gamemode is your favorite in CS:GO? It could be an official gamemode or a gamemode on an independent community server.

I personally love Arms Race. I don't know why but it's really the most addicting gamemode in the game for me. I'm not the competitive kind of person so I don't like playing seriously, maybe that's why it's so perfect for me. Anyone has a chance of winning in this gamemode assuming their aim control is decent. Since the last few weapons are pistols and the ones before that shotguns and snipers, the last few level ups are usually the hardest because everyone on a lower level than you has a stronger weapon than you do. That gives a chance for the lower levels to catch up imo and it makes it hard for one person to dominate unless they're hacking.

What's yours?

Demolition is the best. It's fast-paced but simple and still retains the tactical side of CS but without the whole budget management and rounds are really quick on smaller maps. Only downside is that there aren't enough maps, and it can get fairly repetitive but even though it's simple and there isn't a great deal of variety or strategy it's still fun as hell.

Demolition is fun indeed. I play it more than I play Casual and Competitive. I love the maps, but like you I wish there were more. I think the reason it's fun to me is because it's closer to Arms Race than it is to Casual or Competitive because the weapons are upgraded every few kills. Feels more challenging and fun as well.

Competitive is by far my favorite. Sure, arms race and deatmatch can be fun sometimes, but it's nowhere near as fun as competitive imo :D

I honestly have to agree with you. I know I said I wasn't the competitive kind of person, but that was when I had 100 hours of gameplay. I'm officially hooked on competitive with 340 hours now, increasing by a rate of 20 hours per week, most of which are spent on competitive matches. The only thing I dislike about it is the high numbers of assholes I encounter in solo queuing. So many toxic immature people. It's hard to mute them too because they occasionally give helpful callouts that I could use.

I agree that Competitive so far is probably the most developed mode, but I honestly hate how there isn't any casual matchmaking of the same type. It was really annoying to have to grind through 10 vs 10 matchmaking games that lacked in any substance whatsoever in order to play competitive.

You can play in community servers with similar gamemodes. It won't be the same experience but that's as close as it can get. Making a casual 'competitive-like' gamemode doesn't make all that much sense to me to be honest. It will just be a replica of the same gamemode but it will be called casual? You will still encounter the same kinds of people.
Unless you're suggesting it doesn't match players based on rank but rather randomly. That will be disastrous but it will make more sense than an exact replica of the competitive mode with a different name.

I stopped playing CS:GO anyway. I feel like that they could take some clues from Rainbow Six: Siege and actually add in some form of casual matchmaking that isn't 10v10, and the fact that the casual modes are a requirement in the first place is just annoying.
