The much higher graphical abilities of the PC goes a long way for me, but even if you throw that away, I love the indie games that appear on the PC. Games like FTL, Paper's Please, and Thomas Was Alone for example are some of the most compelling and fun games I've played in years. They are incredibly simple, but they put game play and story-line in front of graphics and are truly worth their low sales prices.
Also, if we forget about indie games and focus on mainstream it's easy to describe the benefit in a single word: MODS. I didn't like GTA4 at all when it was released, and it's still my least favourite of the whole series, but you can forget all that when you turn on a few fun mods. The mod availability on a PC is amazing and the community behind them is incredible. If you've still got the game kicking around on your PC but haven't checked out LCPDFR I recommend it. It's way more fun than the actual storyline.
