Lenovo has started getting a reputation for installing Adware on consumer PCs. In a recently uncovered feature – which had been swept under the rug – allowed new Lenovo laptops to use new Windows features to install the company’s software and tools even if the computer was wiped.

Thanks for this information. I work in the electronics department of walmart and this is another thing I can use to help people decide on laptops.

I'm pretty sure this information will help get Lenovo out of my store. If they don't sell then why have them?

Chrome books are like this. Simple method to get around it, I don't want to go into details about it..
But any rookie hacker with some common sense can bypass this.

Wow, thanks for the heads up. I will never buy a Lenovo computer. This is really fishy and pesky of them.
Let people use their own computers however they want!

I've looked at Lenovo computers before because they're cheaper than some other brands, but saving a few bucks is not worth the hassle of having adware built into the software on my computer without my consent. It's bad enough that we're constantly fighting against spam, malware and identity theft. Now we have to worry about our own computers coming pre-infected with adware?
What next, will Lenovo start sending us penis enlargement emails?
