The game looks sick!  Watch the video and comment!
Link to Youtube Video

I only just heard about this game yesterday.  Typically I prefer First Person Shooters to Third Person Shooters, but I'm blown away by the game play footage here.  Looks like a great tactical shooter at a fast enough pace to really make it exciting.  It's going to be available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Table/smartphone.  I'm still learning about this game, but I heard that tablet and smartphone players will be able to play as a drone in order to assist players on console or PC.  In the video you can see that a player named Chris occasionally assists the team as a drone and I believe that it said he was playing from a tablet.  I'm not sure at the moment if it will be cross platform, allowing PC and console players to play together, but allowing tablet users to play a supporting role is kind of mind blowing.

Is anybody else looking forward to this?  Does anybody have news they can provide? Is anybody currently playing the beta?

Yep, I've seen plenty about this game. Looks like a cool squad-based shooter. The viral backstory sounds neat, too, but I don't know how far it'll actually stretch into the gameplay - kinda sounds like it's just used as an excuse to evacuate a city and allow players to run around shooting at stuff without pegging civvies. I don't think I'll do a first-day purchase, but if it does well enough on the initial reviews...

I've been reading up on this game. Looks exciting! I like a lot of the features, especially the one about the weather affecting your character. It's just really cool and while I know it's not exactly a revolutionary feature since it was already implemented by a few other (older) games before, I've never played them so it comes as really fresh and brand new. So I'm really excited for this game!

I've read a lot about this game, actually. Especially with how close the other Tom Clancy game, Rainbow Six Siege came out with it. The Division is pretty close to release now, but I'm super excited. I love apocalyptic games and stories, and the fact that it's set in a kind of run down, future version of New York City that's pretty much been destroyed, has got me hooked.
I love MMO's, and the idea of this kind of world in an MMO is appealing to me, I can wait for it to finally release so I can try it out!

The game looks pretty good, but I'm worried about the delays and glitches it'll have. The developers have already been talking badly about it so it doesn't sound very promising. But from what I've seen on trailers, the graphics look awesome which I'm excited about.

Graphics got me excited too. There has been a sort of a stalemate where recent games, despite looking really beautiful weren't breaking any barriers like few years ago. I mean, graphically there isn't much difference between a 2015 game and a 2010 game, but there's a big difference between 2010 game and a 2005 game. Same with 2005 game and 2000 game and so on.

However, what gets me really excited about this game is that's it's a first (that I know of) post-apocalyptic game set in a large city where the apocalyptic event occurred only recently. I wanted to play a game like that for years.

I do share your concerns as well. There have been several delays and there has been a talk of graphics downgrade so I'm really wondering how it'll turn out in the end. I hope the delays only meant they wanted to release the best possible game, but it's Ubisoft, so you never know.

What have the developers been saying about it that's bad? I haven't heard anything recently... I've only heard good things so far, so i'm still excited.

This is one of the first games I've been pretty excited for in a long time.

When I first saw this game, I was in awe. I think that was back in 2012-2014? It's really hard to remember, but I recall it was the trailer where it was first revealed right after the Black Friday trailer, where it showed the takeover of the police station and the extraction defense portion. I watched some of Jester418's playthroughs recently and was sort of reminded of Destiny, and I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing. It has that MMO feel, which I think doesn't fit the genre very well considering it's a survival-esque genre/atmosphere. But, who knows, it might work. Maybe my expectations will be fulfilled. One thing I noticed from the gameplay video in the OP is that the enemies are unusally bullet-spongey, which is the hallmark of an RPG-based game. Not really fitting for it's realistic/bleak atmosphere, but I suppose it fits the genre of game pretty well. I love the weapon customization in particular, and it sort of brings me back to the Ghost Recon Future Soldier game with the customization wheel and everything. I'll be looking forward to this, but I'll remain cautious considering I've been let down by Ubisoft in the past. I hope they deliver.
