My dad called me up the other day and alerted me to the fact that there are well over 100 issues of Nintendo Power sitting in his basement. I told him to throw them out, since I can download the magazines online at this point - and when I decided to download a few just for fun, I pretty quickly got lost in waves of nostalgia. Grew up getting that magazine every month, and I must've poured over the earlier issues hundreds of times. Even contributed a factoid about Mega Man 7 to the Classified Information section one time.
Anyone else grow up with Nintendo Power?

Oh, hell yeah!! I Also had a ton of issues sitting there inside a box in my parents' home. Those were the days.
I don't know if the box that contains the magazines is still there or if mom threw it out already though.
I too grew up collecting those, they were so cool.

I found a site where you can download scans of them, and I've been going back and looking at them again. Great stuff. There are a lot of little jokes for adults thrown in that completely flew over my head - for example, there's a bit in the old Starfox comic where General Pepper talks about his time as a sergeant, and it shows a shot of him with a bunch of other army officers... dressed up similar to the Beetles on the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. That's some clever nonsense right there.
