i did this piece 30 minutes ago. i love centering everything so that the design becomes symmetrical, almost minamlistic

Meanwhile you've done what exactly? He claims this is almost minimalistic, yet obviously doesn't know what that term means. I told him his shadows were odd, which implies he should take a second look at them and make adjustments. I flat out told him he went overboard, that there was too much going on at once, which implies to go back and take things out, lessen the layers. The only person being unhelpful here, is you.
