Laptop or Desktop
#21
I've only ever played on a desktop, it's the only way to play. Laptops are slow-- a good video card and RAM won't fit inside. You have to get the best gaming PC out there Razers, Steel series etc.

I don't have the stability to have a desktop right now long term (constantly moving from place to place, living area not so large, not much free time), so I make do with a laptop for gaming. If I did have it already, I would definitely invest in a desktop for gaming; it feels more comfortable to use for games, can make sure that it has much larger memory, needs less money to have good specs, and less likely to have problems with overheating. I'd like to try some games but am worried that my laptop might not be able to handle them, so I've held off, but someday I'd like to try them.

My laptop crapped out on me, so all I have is a desktop right now. But it's always been better for gaming anyway.

I don't do a whole lot of PC gaming, but I prefer a desktop. Hooked up to my TV. With a standard gaming controller plugged in XD

Laptop. I used desktops when I went to school but now I'm at college we use laptops. I prefer laptops even though the one's at college never have any charge and I don't want to bring my home laptop there either.

I currently have a laptop because I travel a lot and I need my laptop with me at all time, but personally speaking I prefer Desktop for gaming. It's just much smoother and you can pretty much run anything without having the constant fear of your laptop overheating and eventually setting itself on fire and murder you in your sleep or whatever other tragic exaggerated scenario you can think of. But yes, while I dig the portability of laptops and I need it, I prefer desktops. It's just so much better in many ways.

I like laptops better BUT I will only use desktops now.  I burned up 3 laptops while gaming in my college days, one a year until I got a desktop.  Now I just burn up graphics cards ;)

My desktop obviously. Cheaper to build, cheaper to upgrade, has more power and is totally built for it from the ground up. I know there's gaming laptops but it's not the same. Costs more and frankly has a much shorter shelf life of use so unless I'm drowning in money and really on the freaking move all the time, it's not worth my money to get. I have a laptop but it's more of a portable workstation than a gaming machine and that's the way it'll be.

I used to use a desktop, but my husband messed it up on accident. So he bought me a laptop that I was able to customize through Dell.
In my experience, I prefer the desktop for gaming. I've noticed that when I get into intense multi-player games that require a lot of work from my laptop, it overheats easily and will shut off. Even with a fan blowing on and under it, it still does this. The mobility is nice, but I can't wait to be able to get a new desktop!

I'm more of a console gamer, but I like to use desktop PCs when I do play a computer game. There's just more freedom of movement. Plus, a laptop makes me feel rushed. Sleeker design makes me feel like you have to do what you came here to do and move on. A desktop, with all it's clunky charm, makes me feel more relaxed, so I can enjoy the game better.
