I personally do not believe in karma. I have seen too many people do too many horrible things that others don't know about and didn't believe it when I told them. For example, my grandmother was watching me when I was eight. My uncle and I took a walk down the street. We lived in a rural area, so there was a creek on our road. I went down to watch the water when I saw an old burlap sack with puppy skeletons. Crying, I told my grandmother what we had seen. She shrugged and told me she had done it. She didn't want the puppies and instead of taking them to a shelter or asking if anyone in the family wanted them, she put them in a sack and tossed them in the creek. She still has yet to be hit by karma.

Karma, is something people use to make them self's feel better when harmed / hurt. Its like "god" its a "safe haven" for people who are closed minded. I've done studies on this, 95% of people who believed in religions also believe in karma. Then, the people who doesn't believe god exists was about 55% don't believe in karma.
So, in my opinion Karma is simply something to make people feel safe / better.

That'd put you in the 5%. And no one has hurt me if you think that's why i'm not religious. I don't believe in a higher up for several reasons. One the of biggest being so many different "gods" per race. And of course some atheists are close minded. Its not a big ordeal. Its just how that person was raised.

I believe karma exists, and I have seen plenty of instances where there are people that really, REALLY deserve that karmic smack in the face. But it doesn't do anything to settle me thinking that one day they will have karma turn on them, or even in another lifetime. What it does do, is remind me that everything has a balance, and not just in a karmic way, but in a harmonious way. I still do bad things here and there, i'm not perfect, and I will pay for what I've done.
