What are your favorite movies?

Wow, we just found my all time favorite movie on YouTube after having not been able to find it for years. My husband also found one he had been looking for and couldn't find on the channel, "Red Dawn At Morning," in case anyone else is looking.

My favorite(of all time) is called, "Lady Beware," from 1987 w/Diane Lane. She is a window dresser - it's a Suspense Thriller.

As for new movies, Divergent is my all time favorite action movie to date. Beyond that, I'd have to say if I were to pick a new comedy, it would be "The Other Woman," with Cameron Diaz.

I love Marvel movies. I am a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe especially Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, and The Avengers. I also love Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. My taste in movies actually varies.

I'm a big Disney/animation fan, so my favorite films from those are The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Outside of that, gotta be Jurassic Park, the Star Wars saga, and Wizard Of Oz. I'm a nostalgia buff, what can I say.

My all time favorite movie for the past 12 years has been Rocky Horror Picture Show. There's so much to love about the movie. I usually get tired of my "favorite movies" after awhile but not with RHPS.

I love discovering new movies through Redbox. I find that there are always independent genre movies that I've never heard of on Redbox, and they end up being some of the best movies I've ever seen. I love it!

I find my movies on Netflix so I don't have to leave my house and rent them, hehe.

My all-time favourite film is 1976's Network, which is most famous for its iconic "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!" speech.  Paddy Chayefsky's script is truly brilliant scathing satire that made several dire predictions about the then-future of television and society at large that have all nearly come to pass by now (most notably cable "news" hosts like Glenn Beck and "reality" TV).  That fantastic script was then expertly brought to life by master director Sidney Lumet, complete with career defining performances from Peter Finch, William Holden, Faye Dunaway, and Ned Beatty, among others!  In my humble opinion, Network is an absolutely pinnacle of film-making!

My second favourite film of all-time is David Lynch's eerie and surreal 1977 debut feature Eraserhead.  It is an impressively unique and original film, a pure translation of the auteur's nightmarish vision to celluloid untainted by crass secondary concerns, and Lynch's dedication making it over the course of many years is quite admirable!

These are some of my all-time favorite films:

The Butterfly Effect
Road To Perdition
The Godfather trilogy
The Lord of The Rings trilogy
Old Boy (the original 2003, Korean film)
Lady Vengeance
Interstellar

So yeah, I suppose I enjoy dark and emotional movies mostly in the genres of thriller, suspense and action.
Blood Diamond

Body of Lies
Zero Dark Thirty

My favorite movies are Heavenly Creatures, Suicide Room, Perfect Blue and Zero Day (2003).
I enjoy psychological movies focusing on the issues of young adults (because I can relate to them).
I'm also heavily interested in themes of mental illness.

Haven't seen Eraserhead, but Network is a damn good movie, I must agree. His whole rant was well-acted, and the overriding message of the movie is still spot-on.

As for my list, uhhh... it changes a lot, so, lesse what it is these days:
  • Star Wars - primarily for nostalgia
  • Star Trek, mainly Wrath of Khan and First Contact
  • Kill Bill
  • Se7en
  • The Dark Knight Returns - yes, the animated movies; they're my favourite Batman films by far
  • Alien and Aliens
  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
  • Dogma
  • Clerks
  • Ghostbusters (not so much the sequel)
  • Pulp Fiction
  • The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy
  • The Toy Story Trilogy
  • Wall-E
  • The Lion King
  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame
  • Snatch
Aaaaand probably more. You can tell you have diverse tastes when 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' and 'Snatch' come after each other in a list.
