I check Facebook throughout the day. I don't often post but I follow many recipe and news pages; I will share the posts I am interested in just to me or to a friend that may benefit from the info.
Facebook is a way for me to connect with friends I no longer live close to from my hometown or friends from previous workplaces.

I usually check my FB throughout the day also. Sucks when you move from a place far away and have to use social media just to connect to them. Sometimes it's for the better though.

Yup, it's mostly high school and college friends that I keep in touch with through Facebook.  Nothing beats a phone call or a visit though to my most dear friends and family.  Sometimes I think it would be easier just to subscribe to the sites off facebook for my recipes and news, probably would take less time than checking all day for new posts. :)

Phone calls are the best, besides seeing them physically.

I use Facebook quite a lot. However, not like a social network freak, but rather as a communication tool. I simply use it to communicate with friends and peers in my communities as it seems to be quite simple and proves to do the task efficiently. I may look at some posts from others from time to time, but honestly, it could get really boring fairly quickly.

I really hate facebook. I recognize that it's incredibly helpful to keep in touch with friends (that's the only reason besides checking university class group), but it enables terrible, self-centered type of thinking.
Seeing what some people publish on Facebook makes me lose faith in humanity a bit more.

I put it up a couple times a day. Most of my father's side of the family is addicted and that's the only way I have to keep in touch with them. I send a text or a call and it may go unanswered. I send a facebook message and get a response almost immediately.
