I'd highly recommend them but people tend to expect too much from the older game because how people raved about them but it is 2020. If you're into retro gaming then sure, go for it because you definitely missed out. If not, then I would at least try and play Breath of the Wild :)

I really understand what you're saying. I can imagine Zelda for a lot of people is a nostalgic trip

I tried out Links Awakening on Nintendo Switch. It wasn't half that bad. Could be a lot better towards the middle of the game. I stopped playing it half-way through only because I found it harder to find the right objective to getting to the next dungeon. If you play a lot of Zelda then you would love the game. I didn't know they had one for an older system like that.

I never played the original Link's Awakening but the Switch version is absolutely adorable and I love it.
I heard that it stayed loyal to the original game aside from a few QoL changes and the obvious overall design change/update, which I can appreciate even though I never experienced it.

My favorite, however, is Breath of the Wild. Just... *mwuah* modern masterpiece. Zelda or not, just an overall masterwork of a videogame.

I did also enjoy Minish Cap, though. It was my first Zelda game and there's a place in my heart for it.
