Do you think that hiring a teen to be a staff member on your forum is a good idea? Why or why not?
How do you go about hiring a staff member on your forum? What method has worked best for you?

I don't see the problem with it if they are mature enough. I ran various different sites when I was a teenager (technically I'm still borderline a teenager - 18) and I don't think my users had any problems with it at all. I've seen adults that are awful staff, I don't think age is a huge factor when hiring staff

I think it all depends on how mature the person is. I've seen some teenagers that can be mature and I've also seen some adults who are not very mature at all. I tend to go by their maturity level and not how old they are.

12-03-2017, 07:47 PM (This post was last modified: 12-03-2017, 07:47 PM by zoldos.) I don't use staff other than myself. I had huge issues on my old adult forum with a "friend" that I made Co-Admin. He admitted he was going to delete me from my own forum and also got a bunch of a**hole friends to spam it with like 50-60 insulting posts a day...
I removed him, banned his IP, and we are no longer friends. :(

Agreed. I made a really graphic, detailed blog about it on my Deviant Art page, and within minutes, a brand new profile popped up, and contacted me claiming to be the stalker's friend. The person wrote me asking me to take down my blog. I didn't, and blocked the account (obviously it was him again).
This was 12 years ago and to this day, when someone makes a weird comment, I think it's him. :(

I think if the individual is mature and is able to present themselves as they are representing the staff team on the forum, then why not. We may not all be prefect when it comes to this and that on a website, however, as long as the individual is committed and dedicated then that's a great reason.
